Safety Glass is glass that has been treated. There are different ways to treat glass to prevent it from breaking.
Safety glass is used in many different ways, Armoured glass, blast resistant glass, cyclone glass, ballistic glass and healthcare glass just to name a few.
Types of safety glass include, Tempered glass, a heat-treated glass which causes the glass to break in cubes rather than shards. Commonly used for vehicle windows, security glass windows, store windows, hotels and airports.
Laminated Glass has one or more (PVB) poly vinyl butyral sheets sandwiched between two layers of glass. PVB can also be tinted to block UV rays and also create a mirror finish.
PVB provides better insulation and also helps keep the panel from shattering holding it in one piece.
Mesh Glass, or wired glass has a metal mesh pressed into it during the manufacturing process. Giving the glass panel its extra strength. Comenly used in security glass.
When it comes to safety you do not want to compromise, high quality glass does cost more, but the benefits far out way the price giving your family or clients the added security and safety they deserve.
